Brampton sits close to both major Canadian rail networks used for GTA container traffic. City of Brampton employment-area planning materials describe the Brampton Business Park as surrounding the CN Brampton Intermodal Terminal, and place Coleraine Business Park directly west of the CP Vaughan Intermodal Terminal (now operated under the CPKC network).
Official City of Brampton business-park descriptions link local employment lands to CN Brampton Intermodal and to the CP Vaughan Intermodal Terminal west of Coleraine — the same corridor fleets use for short-haul warehouse and drayage work.
The industrial belt has direct access to Highways 401, 407, 427, and 410. That highway grid is why distribution and drayage operations concentrate along corridors such as Dixie Road, Steeles Avenue, Torbram Road, Bramalea, Castlemore, Mount Pleasant, and Airport Road rather than in a single downtown depot pattern.
Short-haul warehouse and drayage work often means tight dock appointments and limited time to leave the yard. When a unit meets Ontario's heavy-duty diesel emissions criteria (RGW over 4,500 kg plus the ownership-transfer or 7-model-year renewal trigger), an authorized mobile DriveON inspection can be completed at the yard so the tractor does not lose a full shift traveling to a fixed vehicle inspection centre.
Mobile on-site testing is primarily about convenience and reduced downtime. It does not change the pass/fail standards, and it does not guarantee a passing vehicle emissions report.
Heavy-duty diesel commercial motor vehicles with RGW over 4,500 kg need an emissions test at new-owner registration if older than the current model year, or at plate renewal once the vehicle is at least 7 model years old.
